Sometimes It’s Them

Many times, we blame people around us for all our issues without taking time out to look at the man or woman in the mirror. Indeed, our problems may not be far fetched if we take a little time to look within and make a conscious effort to become a better version of ourselves.
However, there are times that constantly looking within or ‘overlooking within’ can be harmful to us. You see, we all have to make a conscious effort to separate when we step out of line or when we are the issues; and when we are being manipulated by others to suite their own agendas.
Recently, I was speaking to one of my Aburos (younger one – more like a younger one turned brother) and he mentioned some things about himself that I just had to set straight (having known him for over ten years). He talked about how people see him and how he felt – at the moment, but I knew that was an absolute lie coming mainly from the circumstance he found himself. This is an absolutely great guy with a kind heart, humble and unassuming – the trainer of trainers. But that’s the issue, it was a moment’s feeling, not the true manifestation of his person.
Many times we are worried about what people say about us. But sometimes, all we need to do is shrug our shoulders and move on. Move on when you know it isn’t you but them. Move on and don’t sweat the small stuff.
Additionally , I’ll say always take time out to appreciate yourself. You should never forget that you are a priceless one-of-a-kind treasure. There’s no one like you. So you are special and different. Embrace your uniqueness and don’t allow anyone to force you into being who you’re not or what you are not.
God loves you and made you special. Surely He didn’t make a mistake in putting you together. Never forget that. So, keep your head up, always and against all odds because you were made to shine and stand out.
Shalom.
