Love…Passion… and Everything in Between
The last two weeks have been pretty amazing for me. Quite frankly I wasn’t expecting it to be, I just wanted to do something different. So I put together a ‘LoveRide’ for couples. The idea was to get them to spend amazing moments lost in each other while they journeyed from wherever.
You see, I looooooveeeee love! Yep! I am an absolutely, unrepentant romantic! I enjoy seeing people in love, the laughter, the glitter in their eyes, the little whispers here and there; and everything in between. Yes, I believe love is an absolutely beautiful thing.
Yet, interestingly, many people believe that love does sometimes come with a bit of pain. Like the pain of separation when a couple ‘fall out of love’ and are left to fit the pieces of their broken dreams and lives together. Or when your heartbeat is taken away forever by the cold hands of death and all you have are the memories of the amazing times you spent together. And then, there’s the pain of watching your lover, the mother or father of your children slowly wasting and fading away right before your very eyes due to a disease that suddenly crept upon them. The list goes on and on and on.
But I ask you, should the fear of failing prevent you from flying? Should the fear of heartbreak prevent you from loving truly, giving yourself absolutely and enjoying the passion, the fire, the thrill and all that comes from love at its purest form?
I can hear the hiss. I can hear you say you don’t know what I have been through or what I am going through! I guess you are right – totally! But today, I want to encourage you to come out of the ashes. To hope again, dream again and yes… bet you know I was going to add this… ah-ha… and love again!
Are you separated from the wife of your youth? Maybe your time apart might just give you both the opportunity to rekindle your love and somehow find your way back to each other. Is it all done and dusted? Well maybe it’s time you rediscover yourself and start afresh.
Have you been grieving the loss of a loved one? As hard and crazy as this may sound, someday this emptiness you feel that threatens to swallow you up will indeed give way and open you up to a whole new life of love, joy and happiness… but that’s only if you are willing to let go. You see, choosing to heal isn’t betraying your loved one in any way. Actually, if that person truly loved you… and I bet he/she did, then they would not want you wallowing in sorrow, despair and loneliness. So, for their sake, for your children’s sake, for your destiny’s sake, please… please… please… rise up, pick up your mat and walk! It may not be easy at first, but know beyond reasonable doubt that the Lord your maker is there with you, cheering and supporting you all the way.
Are you in love and with the one you love? Please cherish what you have. Nurture it. Fan the flames and keep it alive. Does that mean life’s storms won’t come? Of course not! But as a team you can take it on, and when you get through the storm, you will find that what you share has grown stronger and like fine mature wine, tastes and feels sooo much better! *winks*
Haven’t found love yet? Not to worry! Your time will come, and when it does, it will be worth the wait and pain too. In the meantime love-your-self and love your neighbour as yourself. Treat yourself to the beauties of life, spoil yourself… not a little but absolutely silly. This is not the time to envy your married friends or wish evil on that man or woman that ‘stole your Bae or Boo! Nope. When they are doing naming ceremonies, tie that gele, a wedding… buy the aso ebi – if it’s lovely and worth it! And if you sincerely don’t feel like going have a deep refreshing soak with bath oils and minerals infused with therapeutic bath gels. Mehn you’d be singing halleluiah when you are done!
Finally, no matter how great human love may be, it isn’t up to a drop in the ocean compared to love of the Father for you. Indeed He gave up everything, His very best, just to have you. This isn’t a ‘wantintin sometin’! It’s the real deal! I love to say He is the greatest lover of all. He knows you inside out. He knows where and how to touch you. He knows your rhythm and your pace. Do you doubt it? Call on Him today! And very soon you will be shouting… yes…yeess…yeeesss!
