Going through heartbreak? He’s got your back. Battling depression? He’s got you. Are you afraid of recession? He knows. Struggling through bereavement? He’s there for you. Not sure what tomorrow may bring? He’s got you covered. Wondering if you will ever get married or have that child? He has the answers and more. Worried about where the next meal will come from? No shaking, He’s got that too under control. 

In the garden of Gethsemane, He experienced depression, when He thought of the grueling journey to the cross, so he knows very well what depression feels like, He understands your despair and everything else you just can’t say or explain. He feels you and is there with you, through this time and season. This will definitely not swallow or consume you. 

At the cross, He experienced heart break, when from the first time ever He was separated from the Father. You see, on the cross, He bore our sins, and Him who knew no sin became sin, and since sin cannot exist in God’s presence, His cry speaks of His truth, as he endured the separation from God you and I truly deserve.

When Lazarus died, He wept, expressing grief as a result of His bereavement. He felt the stabbing pain and the ache of realization that you are battling with at the moment. But you know with Him, what the world calls the end isn’t necessarily the end; and what was meant for evil did eventually turn around for good. He brought Lazarus back to life though Lazarus did eventually die of old age I guess… but it gets even better. He died, was very dead, but on the third day, He rose back to life, never to die again! And with that comes the promise that though your loved one(s) sleep, they will rise again when He returns to take His people home. Yet, He remains forever close to you, helping you through this phase and will comfort you every step along the way. 

At the wedding in Cana, He turned water into wine. Now, think about it for a moment, for Him to have done that, He definitely had to have been at the wedding right? Yeah… that’s my point. Weddings are His thing too, and I believe He is working behind the scenes to perfect that which concerns you. He is love, which makes Him the best matchmaker of all. You may feel frustrated at the moment having waited so long, but don’t give up, your wait will be worth it. And for that pregnancy, that baby you have longed for and wept about every month, wipe your tears, you are not alone, He is there with you and you are constantly on His mind, and for that reason you can rest assured that the best will come your way; after all He is not a man that He should lie, neither is He the son of man that He should repent, therefore what He has promised He will definitely bring it to pass. 

Interestingly, He went through a moment of not having ‘money’… I mean how else can you explain Him telling his disciple to go to the river and check the mouth of the first fish caught, so He could pay His tax, which explains the passage that says He shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. It may be tough at the moment, but like it was said in a popular Indian film, if it is not ok, it is not the end! Things will turn around for your good soon. Destiny helpers will arise for your sake and that which seems inadequate will soon be overflowing. 

He reigns over every situation and circumstance. He has the final say, and what a say that is too. You know what people call the ‘bottom-pot blessing’? That sweetest part of the pot where all the ingredients have gathered for a perfect meeting… that scrapping it brings no feelings of shame because you know the tantalizing sweetness that follows when it finally lands in your mouth. Ah… the satisfaction… oh the mouthwatering goodness… that priceless feeling that’s second to none; yes, that is what He is preparing for you, nicely packaged as answers to your prayer. 

Over two thousand years ago, He made the ultimate sacrifice so He can have the final say over you and your life. Now, it is time to stand up, wherever you are, shake off the pain, shame, sorrow, depression, fear, anxiety and everything else you are battling with. Raise your head high. Your savior lives. Your redeemer is alive. The one who fought and won so you can have a resounding victory calls you His own. He fought and won so you can win a resounding victory. 

Yeah… indeed, He’s got this… He’s got you… He’s Risen… Halleluiah!
