Gbas… Gbos… And Quietly Cross Dressing Is Becoming The Order Of The Day

Ok… I know this is stirring the waters a little, but people, we have to see things for what they are – entertainment or not.

With Covid 19 and the threat of a third wave, the economic situation of the country and the world, and so many other things happening, many have taken solace in laugher as a therapeutic means of surviving all that is happening. The storylines have become crazier and the punch lines… oh my!

This brings me to the crux of the matter. What’s the need for all this cross-dressing? Why do men suddenly feel the need to dress up like women all in the name of comedy and entertainment?

It may look all nice and innocent, but I am troubled by it. For starters, the z generation is confused enough without pushing this agenda consciously or unconsciously; and obviously the same holds true for a couple of the older generations too.

You see the men brandishing their padded ‘chest’ and ‘backsides’ and even sensually smirking their lips and rolling their tongues – oh yak! I can imagine these might come across as awesome to their spouses, but please spare our eyes and sensibilities. And yes, who says you won’t have pulled off your skit in a more memorable way if you chose to do so as a real man. There have also been instances of women doing the same. Please, people, I beg you, stop it.

For those out there watching these skits, I’d say, please pull back a little and ask yourself what you are consuming and how you are unknowingly programming your mind.

Let’s pause a little and take a walk down memory lane. For many, Hollywood defined what love and success is by the movies and series we watched – same goes for the ‘good old’ M&Bs and Silhouette Desires (ah… you know yourselves eh… not to worry, I am guilty too). The same goes for action movies and the wild display of guns and gunfights. All of these have shaped the way we think and many have had to consciously re-program their minds, but not many have been fortunate enough to achieve this.

Now back to the present day, and you can now fit the pieces together. Also, you may not know that entertainment and the ‘messages’ therein are much stronger than we think. You see, when your guard is down, it makes it easier for you to accept a message and even increases the impact of these messages. These rules apply in psychology, counseling, marketing, name it. While you are being entertained and your stress levels are seemingly going down, your guard and that of your children are down and suddenly that which you would normally have frowned at becomes ok and acceptable.

Entertainment is good. Comedy is beautiful. But we have to consciously sieve out the wheat from the chaff.

pages-for-life

Hi, thanks for stopping by. I am me and I believe that there is always a sunny side of life regardless of the happenings around us. So that’s what this is all about – not giving up in a world that seems chaotic and uncertain, filling the hearts of many with fear.

I hope as you read through you will find a reason to smile even on a bad day or perhaps get the inspiration you need to get up and fulfill your purpose or simply be encouraged to keep on keeping on.
