Entering the Same Trousers with COVID-19

I had wanted to do this post a while back but different things kept cropping up, and looking back now, I am somewhat grateful that they did because now I can give you all a more comprehensive gist on tackling this scourge that has ravaged the world for a while now.

From its origins in Wuhan China in the latter part of 2019, the novel – well not so novel anymore – Corona Virus quickly made its way to the nooks and crannies of the world, though interestingly missing Tuvalu, Turkmenistan, Tonga, Samoa, Palau, Tokelau, SaintHelena, PitcairnIslands, Niue, Nauru, Kiribati, FederatedStatesOfMicronesia, CookIslands and American Samoa. At its peak, the world literarily shut down as many countries closed their borders while others restricted the movements of citizens in a bid to curb the spread of the virus and ‘flatten the curve’ yet sadly many lives were still lost especially in Italy, Belgium, Peru, Spain, UK, US and Argentina.

Wearing facemasks – whether surgical, cloth or N19 masks; constantly washing hands or sanitizing them; observing social distancing and staying home as much as possible have been proven techniques to help stay safe and keep the virus at bay. However when it comes, or if it comes, it is important to be well equipped to fight it, beat it and survive!

Interestingly, the first step in doing this is your mindset, believe it or not. The fear of COVID isn’t necessarily the beginning of wisdom. Rather a strong will to live and a resolve to shut out all negativity, fear and every other negative vibe fortifies your body to fight with winning in mind. Should you come down with it, this is not the time to read about the statistics of how many people have died from it, instead focus on the positives – your dreams, your children, your loved ones and everything that makes you tick.

Next, fortify yourself. While some people are symptomatic, others remain asymptomatic even after testing positive. If you belong to the first category ensure to get to the hospital as quickly as possible – depending on how severe your case may be. Note that not everyone who takes ill necessarily ends up on admission. So don’t panic, you can beat this. In fortifying your body to fight, you will need Vitamin C 1000mg about twice daily, Zinc 50mg once daily and Vitamin E 1000iu once daily all of which should be taken after a meal – a balanced diet as your body needs this now more than ever. Next, consider tabs Ivermectin 12mg – that’s four tablets daily to be taken an hour before food with a full glass of water for at least five days preferably before lunch as well as Paracetamol to take care of the fever and headache, and Doxycycline 100mg daily (taken a few hours after other medications have been taken) for about seven days. Also, ensure to check and closely monitor your temperature (using a thermometer) and pulse (using a pulse oximeter: your oxygen saturation should be at least 94) regularly. Ensure to treat all symptoms as they come so your body can focus on fighting the virus.

Nature is your ally. You see, there are a number of natural remedies that come in handy when fighting COVID-19. These include regular exposure to sunlight preferably in the morning so you can suck up a lot of vitamin D. Also a delightful tea from lemon, ginger and honey, taken at least three times a day goes a long way. Then comes steam inhalation. Use Olbas oil or Eucalyptus oil when steaming at least twice a day – this is absolutely compulsory. In short, steam as often as you can! And look at the bright side, you’ll not only be helping yourself get better, but you’d also end up with a smooth silky face too! Now isn’t that something!

Yeah, the COVID-19 test is anything but nice, I mean having someone sticking a seemingly large ‘cotton bud’ deep inside your nose is by no means pretty, but you know what? Why not just imagine that you are being given a treat which involves free nose picking and scrubbing – that may just make the experience a little less hectic for you.

Finally, remember you are not alone in this fight. The LORD your healer is right by your side and I bet when Christ was being flogged thousands of years ago one of those stripes had COVID 19 written boldly on it. So, no matter how much  COVID-19 or Corona Virus or whatever it calls itself tries to flex its muscles, know it is just doing ‘shakara’ and simply trying to ‘bobo’ you because it knows it had lost the battle way before it began – you just have to believe it. What does this mean? Get your black belts, tie them well and get ready to win. We all will overcome by His grace!

Note, I am not a doctor, all I have shared I have received from experiences of people and a few doctor friends of mine. You can also go through this publication by the NCDC as well as call 08000CORONA for more information.

pages-for-life

Hi, thanks for stopping by. I am me and I believe that there is always a sunny side of life regardless of the happenings around us. So that’s what this is all about – not giving up in a world that seems chaotic and uncertain, filling the hearts of many with fear.

I hope as you read through you will find a reason to smile even on a bad day or perhaps get the inspiration you need to get up and fulfill your purpose or simply be encouraged to keep on keeping on.
