Cruising Through December

It’s December! The twelfth month of the year. Many are in a hurry to make up for what seems like lost time or perhaps ensure they are able to meet up with their targets or their New Year resolutions for the beginning of the year. Little wonder this month seems like the most stressful and fast paced of all months.
But you see, in the midst of the frenzy, you need to chill and take a breather. Yeah right, you may say, how’s that possible when there’s so much to be done and so little time? My answer? Let’s first start by taking a deep breath and exhaling slowing…! Now let’s get started with a plan.
Firstly, you have to be true to yourself. Sincerely, ask yourself, how much do you think is possible and feasible with the number of days left in the year? This gives you a workable plan you can aim to achieve. Write out the list and create new timelines for yourself. As you achieve them, reward yourself with something. It will inspire you to keep going and keep achieving.
Secondly, don’t get caught up in the frenzy. Instead pace yourself. You see, in the midst of trying to achieve everything at once, many people become stressed, lose their health or get into panic mode. This year, we are doing things differently. Don’t go with the flow. Rather set your flow. Take your eyes off other people and shut your ears to what you think they may be saying. Focus on your target and gradually tick them as you set the plans and execute them. Remember, this is your race, your show, and no one else’s.
Thirdly, chill out. Yes. Make a conscious effort to rest and relax. This is not the time to be working twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Nope. It is the time to be strategic while ensuring your body is well taken care of for the tasks at hand. Eat healthy. Sleep when you need to. Go out with friends, see a movie or perhaps go to the beach. This will help your mind and body rejuvenate thereby preparing and enabling you to win and succeed.
Fourthly, get yourself a friend, confidant and accountability partner. This can be your spouse, sibling, business partner, etc. This is the person who will ginger you up on the days you feel weary, this is the person who will listen on the nights you just need to pour out your heart, this is the person on whose shoulder you will lean on when you don’t want to talk but need an encouraging hug.
Finally and most importantly, hold on to God’s unchanging hands. The Lord who has seen you this far is surely able to see you through to the very end. He is able to plant helpers along your way as well as give you miracles you least expected. He has written the script of your life, and His thoughts towards you are thoughts of good and not evil to give you a future and a hope.
Wherever you are reading this, take a moment to thank God for how far He has brought you and trust and surrender knowing that your hopes and dreams are easy peasy for Him.
So, once again, inhale and exhale slowing…! Smile. Chin up! And get ready for a great December!
Hugs 🤗 from me to you and yes… you too!

Well spelt out!

May the season bring forth goodness.
