An Ode To The Very Best Lover

What words can I say? How do I say them? Once I thought I had been fully blown away by your love for me. Once I felt that your love was an anchor that steadied me when I was caught in the turbulent waters called life. Little did I know I had not even touched the surface, or even experienced the depths that lie in between! Little did I know that what I thought was the fullness of who you are, was just a tiny little drop in the ocean of your person, your glory, and your divinity.
I am humbled. Yes, I am. Calling you Father is such an honour. Calling you Lord is like being handed the world’s most precious jewel and being told, it’s all yours. The joy, the peace, the gladness; everything mixed together and more. Calling you king is a reminder of my royal lineage that starts and ends with you.
I know beyond every reasonable doubt that your love does not stem from anything perfect that I may have done. I know also that your mercy and grace are simply reflections of who you are and most likely have little or nothing to do with what I have done.
You are love, Yes you are. You are peace, Yes you are. You are Lord, Yes you are. You are almighty. Sure you are. Omnipotent, omnipresent, the many breasted one. No love can compare to yours. The peace from the world is nothing but a joke compared to yours. That settling silence, that calm warm embrace, those gentle words that speak to the storm, and those ever-loving hands, ever guiding me; carrying me when the journey gets too rough, and steadying me, when it seems I am about to fall. And then, the warm whisper that over and over again silences the hot scream of pain.
You have won my heart, and I am yours – mind, body, and soul. You paid the price for my redemption, yet daily you redeem me – your redemption, a never-ending prize that just keeps on giving.
Indeed, my heart beats to the rhythms of your love.
The twinkling of my eyes reflect your majesty.
I am, and will always be, by your mercy and grace, Yahweh’s Kid.
There is so much the world may give, but you see, the world also has a way of taking too. So I’d say, why settle for the fleeting things when you can have the eternal things? It’s a choice you have to make sometime. No pressure. But when you do, you’ll know deep down within you that you are home, that you are safe and saved.
What more can I say? Welcome home. ☺
